Fightmag.net : Hi Mitch , how the training and fight preparation going ?
Mitchell SETH : Training has been going pretty good, I’ve been lucky to have been quite active lately and managed to stay injury free so i am in pretty good condition right now.

I have a hard 5 weeks of training still ahead of me to prepare for this fight, so plenty of time to fine tune my skills and push my fitness and conditioning.

Fightmag.net : Tell us about your fight vs thai Olay in June and your latest fight vs South Australian boy ?
Mitchell SETH : I trained really hard for the fight against Olay so i was disappointed in not only the result, but i didnt execute many of the things i had worked so hard on in the gym.

I didnt pick up any injuries from that fight and was able to fight 3 weeks later against Myles Simpson from South Australia. It was good to fight so soon after, especially as i wanted to redeem myself for the loss to Olay.

Myles is a respected fighter and i knew i had to be on my game for that fight, and i definately felt the pressure to win! I felt sharp right from the first bell and I caught him with a sharp left knee early in the first round which ended the fight. Since then i have also fought over in South Australia, 4 weeks after fighting Myles, against Scott Hughes in which i picked up a first round KO via headkick.

Fightmag.net : Up-coming bout vs Loris AUDOUI on Domination 5 , seems like a great challenge on the international level . Any expectations ?
Mitchell SETH : I’m really excited about this fight, it’s a great opportunity for myself to fight a fighter of his calibre in my own home town and on such a great event.

I am expecting a hard fight, and to really push myself to the next level in order to win. It’s a challenge im definately looking forward to, and a great experience to further my career.

Fightmag.net : Tell us about your achievements and fight experience , as in fact you are fighting vs 5 times champion of the World ?
Mitchell SETH : I was fortunate enough to grow up around the sport with my father already training fighters. I started fighting when i was 7 years old and have been lucky enough to fight all around Australia aswell as Thailand and Kazahkstan. As a junior i won 2 state titles and medalled at 3 IFMA world championships. Since then i have won a state title and also a national title. I have had 39 fights all up, hopefully many more to come!

Fightmag.net : Any surprises to be prepared for this Caribbean fighter or you are willing to work in your standard manner ?
Mitchell SETH : Nothing too out of the ordinary for this fight, just continue to work hard and strive to improve constantly. There is a bit of a contrast in styles between us, so i will be looking to use my strengths and hopefully take him out of his element a bit.

I would love to make this fight exciting, but we’ll have to see what happens when I’m in there! haha.

Fightmag.net : What is your future goal ? Any plans ?
Mitchell SETH : Just to keep fighting and stay healthy. At the moment I am just taking it one fight at a time, but i would love nothing more than to be World champion one day and to be able to make a decent living from fighting which im most passionate about.

If all goes to plan i will be off to Thailand at the end of the year for an extended period of time so i can live muaythai all day every day, and hopefully improve vastly and further my career. I’m still young and the sky is the limit, I’m just loving where this sport is taking me right now!

” I’m 45 years old and have been involved in MuayThai since I was 17 years old.

I have had my own club since the age of 25 and started judge/refereeing when I was 26 in 1991, this was the first real Thai circuit in Perth.

Within a year I became the Head referee for these events sometimes refereeing up to 10 out of 12 fights, I have completed judge and referee courses at I.A.M.T.F. and I.F.M.A world championship and for over a decade I’m still the Head referee for the W.M.C. in Perth.As my time as a referee I have refereed at least over 500 thai fights and out of that 13 world title fights and many other title fights.

I consider myself a very typical thai style referee and try to get on with the job without being noticed. “
